"Uh, yeah/ I need a new conversation/ I need a new obligation/ Sick of niggas consumed by the matrix/ And their white people rude allegations, right/ I took my crew on vacation/ Accra to Abuja, amazed them/ Uh, now they gon' do DNA shit/ Most of y'all hopin' you are from Lagos..." HA! MOOD FOREVAAAA (in my Cardi B voice)!!! 85 to Africa takes on a WHOLE new meaning for me. I'm 85 to Africa... literally! First Accra in August, and I just saw Jidenna in concert a few weeks ago, and now this... So I just received an email that my AncestryDNA result estimates have been updated... again. My total African gentic makeup is now 85%, up 1% from the updated estimate I received on September 18, 2018. Still #BlackerAF ✊🏾!!! What’s interesting is before they significantly lowered my Nigerian lineage (hey mom!) to a mere 1% which was a direct contradiction to my African Ancestry results which showed that my maternal genetic ancestry is the Yoruba and Fulani people living in Nigeria. I’m now 40% Nigerian, AYE!!! Alexa, play Jidenna's 85 to Africa! African Ancestry also showed my paternal lineage is the Kota and Tsogo people living in Gabon which directly correlates to my now 28% Cameroon, Congo & Southern Bantu People’s estimate (this area includes the Gabon region, hey pops!) via Ancestry.com's findings. It was decreased by 11% since the last update. I also find it interesting that I’m more British than Senegalese, and I’m more Swedish than Ghanaian. And now I’m also one drop of Russian and Mexican. Wow... these new estimates are fascinating to me! Gotta love advanced technology and DNA testing!
