As an educated Black woman, military vet, and former executive in the sports and entertainment industry, specifically having worked with two professional football teams, the recent statements made by Chump and the reactions by the NFL have left me completely dumbfounded. I'm really flabbergasted by the dumbfuckery... but I'm honestly not surprised.

Did you know that your landlord is required to paint the walls and ceilings of your matchbox sized New York City apartment every three years? It’s true!
Two years ago, I created a video based on a poem I wrote for my unpublished book of poetry, R.I.S.E.
“Dream of an Ancestor’s Nightmare” was birthed out of the anger, distress and frustration I felt when I was glued to various news media outlets via TV and internet as the details unfolded about the Charleston church massacre. I can still remember getting the CNN alert on my phone the night of June 17, 2015 that there had been a shooting at the oldest African Methodist Episcopal Church in the South, Emanuel AME Church. Hey J!
I’m coming to you live from 20 years into the future! Yes, this is a letter from 33 year old you. Yes, you read that right. Don't look so surprised! I know when you were a kid - a younger kid - if you had one wish, it would be to time travel. You’ve always been fascinated with history, and would love to go back in the past or fast forward to the future. Listen, appreciate this moment right now. That’s all that matters. Always live in the present. Trust me – um, you – on it! We all have dreams we want to fulfill. Your dream could be becoming an entrepreneur, going back to school, landing that dream job, travelling the world, or starting a family. Whatever your dream may be, it will certainly come with some form of opposition.
Today marks 7 years that I decided to move (and stay) in New York. Today is also the day that I am launching my new blog, The Book of Laws. It’s been a long time coming, and I’m so excited (and a bit nervous) to finally share it with you! The true story you are about to read involves rejection, molestation, homelessness, attempted rape, depression, and relentless determination to reach a goal. It details the harrowing, complicated journey that life took me on so I could follow my dreams and move to New York on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. I hope my story enlightens, inspires, and motivates you to chase your dreams no matter what you may face along the way. Please feel free to like, share, and comment! I look forward to reading your feedback and sharing my life experiences with you!
