"Uh, yeah/ I need a new conversation/ I need a new obligation/ Sick of niggas consumed by the matrix/ And their white people rude allegations, right/ I took my crew on vacation/ Accra to Abuja, amazed them/ Uh, now they gon' do DNA shit/ Most of y'all hopin' you are from Lagos..."
HA! MOOD FOREVAAAA (in my Cardi B voice)!!! 85 to Africa takes on a WHOLE new meaning for me. I'm 85 to Africa... literally! First Accra in August, and I just saw Jidenna in concert a few weeks ago, and now this... Hey world! It's been a while. Four months is entirely too long to not have posted on my blog. I need to do better... I know. A lot of things have happened since February.
01.28.15 - I learned my ethnicity estimate through Ancestry.com
04.24.18 - I learned my maternal ancestry through African Ancestry - Yoruba+Fulani tribes in Nigeria 🇳🇬 07.02.18 - I learned my paternal ancestry through African Ancestry - Kota+Tsogo tribes in Gabon 🇬🇦 I got loyalty, got royalty inside my DNA! 💫 ❤️🖤💚 02.08.19 - I just booked my round trip world business class ticket aboard KLM to Accra, Ghana for August 14 - August 26, 2019! Not only am I celebrating Gabon’s Independence Day today, I’m also celebrating the life of Marcus Mosiah Garvey Jr., Universal African Flag Day, and the one year anniversary of purchasing my blog domain. Hello World! I know I haven't been writing on my blog lately... it was for a reason. Sometimes, you have to take a step back (from everything AND everyone) to see ahead! I've spent the last two months on an in-depth journey of self-discovery since I received my matriclan (maternal) African Ancestry DNA results documented in my last post, "Finding My Roots".
Today, I received my patriclan (paternal) results in the mail... Hey guys! So I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated my blog, but your girl has been busy living life! I need to fill you in on what I’ve been up to these past couple months, but that will be for a later post. This entry is solely dedicated to my journey of self discovery and my earnest quest to trace my ancestral lineage.
