Legends Suite
Yankee Stadium | 2016 Season
Kansas City Royals vs. New York Yankees - May 12, 2016
Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees - July 15, 2016
Cleveland Indians vs. New York Yankees - August 7, 2016
Tampa Bay Rays vs. New York Yankees - September 11, 2016
Working in a career that involves event planning and managing client entertainment assets also comes with awesome company perks, especially when tickets go unused by a line of business.
Waste not, want not! There's levels to this first-class accommodations shit... and the Legends Suite Club is the upper echelon, fine dining baseball experience. I WAS NOT PREPARED!!! All inclusive food and nonalcoholic beverages...
From the fast-moving private entrance line, to the "you're a VIP" Legend wristband, to the there's levels to your complimentary 5-star dining experience (no really, there's two levels in the Legend Suite), to the amazing fresh cuisine at various performance-cooking stations, to the wall of free snacks that you can grab as you walk out to the comfy, cushioned leather seats right behind home plate, to the in-seat menu where waiters basically bring you whatever you want (including sushi... yes, sushi), to the close-up view of the game, and did I mention the private restrooms with built-in TV monitors broadcasting the game in the mirrors... Y'ALL!
Thank you, BNY Mellon! If it wasn't for you hiring me and the LOBs that had clients who cancelled and couldn't use the tickets, I would have never had the chance to experience Legends Suite Club four, YES 4, times! And each time, I didn't eat all day just so I could feast like a beast and get full as a tick! And what's a suite experience if you can't enjoy it with your friends? If I eat, you eat!!! Shout out to Rick, Tatiana, and De'Andre!
And if you're wondering... YES, I made a conscious effort after my second visit to look BLACK AF rocking a fro or two strand twists under a brim hat with my dashiki and African patchwork print harem jumpsuit in a sea full of white people wearing pint-stripped Yankee jerseys, blue t-shirts, or the casual button down with khakis and Sperry's. I can't even begin to tell you how PRESSED some people looked when my guests and I walked past them to get to our seats in the 4th row.
I think back now and chuckle! Check out some bad and boujee #BlackGirlMagic + #BlackExcellence below...

What's so dope about the three pictures below is almost 9 years of faith and growth.
The first pic is me holding my first official Yankee employee guest badge. On the left is the first Yankee game I ever worked (and the first sporting event post grad school that I ever worked) while employed at Van Wagner Sports Group. The game was the Yankees vs. Red Sox on May 14, 2011 - exactly 3 years and 5 months to the day since I graduated from Grambling State University with my Master's degree in Sports Administration on December 14, 2007.
My coworker and I were both so excited that our manager let us go early after we signed up more than enough fans for the "MetLife Yankee Player of the Month Sweepstakes" that we snuck from the concourse where our kiosks were setup into the bowl of the stadium, found two empty seats, and watched the remainder of the game. On the right, fast forward to August 7, 2016 - the Yankees vs. Indians game. We didn't have to sneak that time! We were living the suite life... Thumbs up indeed, Rob!
