Kaleta & Super Yamba Band

About last night...
Kaleta & Super Yamba Band first came on my radar when I attended Luvvie Ajayi and Yvonne Orji: Jesus and Jollof Live at the Apollo Theater last month. They did a set before Luvvie and Yvonne hit the stage. They performed "Mr. Diva", a song with a rift that reminded me of Aretha Franklin's "You're All I Need To Get By" (at the :20 second mark, "As long as I got you then baby you know that you got me, ohhhh")... one of my favorite songs by the Queen!
I posted a video on Instagram of Luvvie and Yvonne walking onto the famed Apollo Stage, and the band's manager, Spencer B. Conover, asked me in my comments to post Kaleta & Super Yamba Band videos if I had any. The only one I had was a snippet of "Mr. Diva" so I posted that next and tagged the band.
Soon after I posted, Kaleta aka Leon Ligan-Majek DM'd me and thanked me for the video and asked for permission to repost. He also invited me to their show at the Brooklyn Museum in three weeks. I, of course, granted him permission, thanked him for the invitation, and told him I would cover his show on my blog! So here we are... when one event begets another!
