Conversations: Kerry Washington

I realized Sunday night after the concert, while I was searching for my rental car in the vastness of NRG Stadium’s parking lot, that I forgot to set the DVR for Robin Roberts interview with Kerry Washington. I wanted to watch it before I went to her Conversation at the new Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) which had its grand opening on September 13th. It’s a gorgeous building!
Still reeling from my Beyoncé hangover, I washed and twisted my hair, then pulled up the interview on Hulu. It was 6pm. The show starts at 8pm. I have time to watch it then go.

I say this from experience, you experience a new level of liberation in vulnerability, controlling your narrative, and living your authentic truth. It’s purifying like water - a theme of Kerry’s book, Thicker Than Water. As I listened to Kerry talk about her life, I thought about my blog and my first post. If you know me, know me… then you know I definitely relate. Water is my happy place, and my journey to NYC was hard fought and well worth it. #yemoja
