It’s so riveting to see a legend command the stage. Denzel Washington is PHENOMENAL! An ultimate master of his craft. He Denzeled Othello. Jake Gyllenhaal held his own as Iago. The whole cast is amazing!
Othello is a MUST SEE! And it just broke the record for highest-grossing play in Broadway history. As you can imagine, we had to lock our phones in Yondr pouches, so no curtain call footage.
I got my ticket in October, and it was worth every penny!

Tony noms are out! I have notes.
Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal getting snubbed for Othello is crazy work, but (technically), I’m not surprised. Denzel is phenomenal and so is Jake. Both had commanding performances and knew their lines. However, there were times it seemed like they rushed through them, and that's not it… especially since it’s Shakespeare. And the set design left much to be desired. I still think Denzel should’ve got a nom off GP cause he was bear crawling across the stage at 70. I was close enough to see his elbows. ijs
SN: I wonder if there is some weird Tony noms backlash cause the Othello actors/production requested that the audience lock their phones for the duration of the show. I can understand for a show like Take Me Out, where Jesse Williams was full frontal for 5 minutes swangin'. But there was no nudity in Othello.
Paying top dollar for a ticket and the audience can’t get photos/video of the curtain call?! No bueno.
