Jonathan Groff stars as Harlem-born singer Bobby Darin in Just In Time.
JG is exuberant retelling BD’s remarkable life through song and dance!
Born a sickly child in 1936. Had recurring bouts of rheumatic fever which weakened his heart. Raised to believe his grandmother was his mother, but his older sister was actually his mother, and he didn’t learn the truth until he was an adult. Married move star Sandra Dee and had a kid. Raced to become a star knowing he may not live long. What a life!
He’s best known for his songs "Splish Splash," "Dream Lover," and his cover of "Mack the Knife."
SN: Thankfully I wasn’t in the splash zone, but I had a great seat! JG is notorious for being... "moist." He's known for sweating quite a bit and spitting when singing and performing. Lin-Manuel Miranda calls it Groffsauce.
