I HIGHLY recommend everyone go see Disruption, especially if you use ChatGPT to think for you. John David Washington stars as Nick who, along with his business partner Raven, is trying to convince his best friends to invest in his superhuman AI algorithm that knows you better than you know yourself, after he’s already secured $300 million from corporate investors. While his friends are happy for his massive Silicon Valley success yet skeptical of his request for money and AI in general, he uses his sentient system to accurately predict the tough life decisions they will make using their own data.
This gripping thriller is so timely yet scary because it makes you dive deeper into the very present dangers of advanced AI, technological convenience vs. critical thinking and self-awareness, social media and the content we choose to share, and the direction society is going in as a whole.
