Death of a Salesman
Winter Garden Theatre | March 9, 2026
First preview of the revival of Death of a Salesman began March 6th, and I promised myself I would go before opening night on April 9th! I was so mad that I missed Wendell Pierce playing the lead role of Willy Loman when the play was on Broadway in 2022.
Three-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane and two-time Tony Award winner Laurie Metcalf, who I saw last October when she gave a praiseworthy performance in Little Bear Ridge Road, were absolutely phenomenal! The whole cast… MY GOD! You could hear all the sniffles and see people wiping tears from their faces.
The play is so moving and still very much relevant today since its Broadway debut in 1949. It’s a theatrical canon masterpiece about the American Dream, the affirmations we tell ourselves, the lies we believe, the systems we strive to belong to that easily discard us, the truths we try to hide, the lessons we learn, and the realization we must finally confront. Bravo to the entire cast and crew!
