I can’t believe that today marks one year that I launched my blog, “The Book of Laws” at jenniferdlaws.com! It all started with my first post, “Fuck It! Let’s Go to New York...” about the incredible journey I took to finally move to (and stay in) New York that’s full of life lessons, trials and tribulations, and a beautiful testimony! #WontHeDotIt
On January 11th, in my haste to catch the A train about to leave the station at W. 4th Street, I fell…hard and in front of a shitload of people no less.
This year has been ABUNDANTLY AMAZING! Seems like just yesterday I was ringing in 2017. Time flies when you’re having fun!!! 2017 was definitely a transitional year for me – one that brought about a deeper awareness of self, setting goals, and spirituality.
Last night, I went to the movies in downtown Brooklyn to see “Marshall” with my sister, Jocelyn. Chadwick Boseman did an amazing job, and it’s a truly compelling film about the first African American Supreme Court Justice and Sam Friedman, a local Jewish lawyer who’s never taken on a criminal case, defending Joseph Spell, a Black chauffeur, who is accused of sexual assault and attempted murder by Eleanor Strubing, a wealthy white socialite, in Connecticut during the 1940s.
